Living with a disability
If you are no longer able to work, you could be entitled to disability benefits under the Québec Pension Plan. In order to be eligible for benefits, you must have contributed to the Plan for at least a certain number of years and meet other conditions. Those benefits consist of the disability pension and the pension for a disabled person's child.
In addition, if you are in charge of taking care of a handicapped child, the allowance for handicapped children can help you cover the additional financial costs related to the care, education and needs of that child.
