Who can act as a pension plan administrator?

  • pension committee
  • A pension committee with a limited number of members or an employer, where a plan has less than 26 members and beneficiaries
  • A person, an organization or group empowered by law to administer the plan
  • A financial institution, in the case of a simplified pension plan (SIPP)

Pension plan administered by the employer

If you are an employer and you are acting as pension plan administrator, this section is for you. You have the same obligations and responsibilities to the plan members and beneficiaries as a pension committee.
