New GST rate effective July 1, 2006

In the Budget Speech of May 2, 2006, the federal Minister of Finance announced a new goods and services tax (GST) rate of 6% starting July 1, 2006. The following questions and answers will help you understand how the new rate will apply in different situations.

Revenu Québec administers the GST/HST in Québec, and is therefore responsible for all of the changes regarding the modification of the GST rate.
