The NEQ is the key for businesses!

Businesses can use their Québec enterprise number (NEQ) as their unique key to access more and more government services. Revenu Québec, together with various other Québec government departments and agencies, now allows businesses to use their NEQ for identification purposes. The Registraire des entreprises (Québec enterprise register) is responsible for implementing this measure under the government's action plan for streamlining public regulatory and administrative processes.

The NEQ is the number assigned to a business when it registers with the Registraire des entreprises under the Act respecting the legal publicity of sole proprietorships, partnerships and legal persons. Currently Revenu Québec and the twelve departments and agencies listed below allow businesses to use their NEQ for identification purposes:

• Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec
