Québec exports grew by 4.4% in September 2006 compared with August. For the first nine months of the year, exports were up 1.3% over the figure for the corresponding period in 2005.

According to the Institut de la statistique du Québec (ISQ), sales were up in September for 8 of the 28 main groups of Québec exports. The biggest increase, by far, was for aircraft, failing which exports would have shrunk by 2.7%.

Aircraft sales also explain the rise of just over 2% in sales to the United States in September.

Following a significant dip in August, exports to Europe improved somewhat, growing by over 5%.
