The circle of life
Québec is home to 11 linguistically and culturally distinct Aboriginal nations who live in some 50 villages spread over 1,600,000 km2 (617,600 sq. mi.) between the 45th and the 62nd parallel. With the exception of northern settlements, these communities—be they on the coast, in the forest or in urban settings—are accessible by road.
Hospitality and sharing are traditional Aboriginal values—both Amerindian and Inuit. Visitors who are eager to discover the unknown aspects of a heritage that evolved over thousands of years on American soil can be sure of a warm welcome. Québec’s Aboriginals will teach you the lessons taught to them by nature since the beginning of time. Whether you spend a few hours or a few days, you will become—like the water, the tree, the wolf or the caribou—an integral part of the universe!
