The Government of Québec maintains relations with international
governmental and non-governmental organizations working in those areas
of
activity which directly interest Québec.
It coordinates Québec’s participation at summits and important multilateral forums as
well as setting out its positions to be put forward in the case of
signature or ratification of
agreements and treaties.
The increase in and improvement of relations between Québec and
international organizations is also achieved through the setting up of
offices and representations of these organizations in Québec. In 1988,
the ministère des Relations internationales established a Politique
d’accueil (Hospitality Policy) for international organizations,
providing a number of conditions to encourage them to set up in Québec
and develop their activities here.
