The work premium is calculated on the basis of earned income and annual income, and according to family situation. The maximum premiums are as follows:
Situation | Maximum work premium |
Person living alone | $512.40 |
Couple without children | $789.88 |
Single-parent family | $2,196.00 |
Couple with at least one child | $2,821.00 |
The work premium varies according to income. Persons whose income is equal to or higher than the maximum applicable to their situation are not entitled to the premium.
To give you an idea of the work premium to which you may be entitled, the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale has developed a Web tool called Calcul@ide.
The application cannot tell you the exact amount of your work premium. Calcul@ide considers that your household's total income is earned income. It does not take into account deductions or income from other sources, although such amounts will be taken into account when Revenu Québec calculates the work premium.
Calcul@ide does not allow for all family situations. For example, in the case of households with one or more children, the application will allow for income for one child, up to a limit of $6,520.
