Entry into force of the Individual and Family Assistance
Act
The entry into force of the Individual and Family Assistance Act
will make it possible to relax the rules pertaining to the
evaluation of the resources available to individuals. It ensures
the implementation of various programs,
including two intended to provide last resort financial assistance
to individuals and families, the Social Solidarity Program and the
Social Assistance Program. These two programs will take effect on
January 1, 2007.
