Quebecers can now get comprehensive updates on the influenza
pandemic, thanks to the government's new official website:
www.pandemiequebec.ca. Just one click gives you all the information
you need on influenza (including seasonal outbreaks), how it
is transmitted, and related preventive and hygiene measures.
Should a pandemic occur, the site will provide information
about its progression, and the measures that Québec
has adopted for dealing with the situation at home or abroad.
Other sections of the site give travellers and businesspeople
valuable advice the event of a pandemic. The public can also
consult the new online newsletter on the influenza pandemic,
Focus.
This initiative is part of the communication strategy for
the Québec Pandemic Influenza Plan – Health Mission.
This plan describes the potential health and psychosocial impacts
of an influenza pandemic on Quebecers. It also sets out the
strategies and actions planned on the provincial level to counter
a pandemic.
