Death of the parent of a minor child

Following the death of a person who has a minor child, you must contact us. As a matter of fact, the minor children of the deceased person could be entitled to benefits if the person contributed sufficiently to the Plan.

Three types of survivors' benefits are payable by the Régie:

  • the death benefit
  • the surviving spouse's pension
  • the orphan's pension

Also, the death of a parent may have an impact on child assistance.
