Ms. Johanne Goulet, Mr. Jean-Claude Deschênes and Mr. Paul-André Savoie have been appointed to the Régie's board of directors. They will represent, respectively, socio-economic groups, beneficiaries and the business world.

Pensions will be increased by 1,6% on 1 January 2003.

Several amendments have been made to the Regulation respecting plans exempted from the application of certain provisions of the Supplemental Pension Plans Act. They came into force on 24 October 2002.

Also, municipalities must bring their pension plans into conformity with section 147 of the Supplemental Pension Plans Act.

These training activities (offered in French only) will allow you to acquire the basic knowledge needed to administer a pension plan. Among the courses offered are Orientation for New Pension Committee Members and Partition of benefits Between Spouses.

On Saturday 3 August 2002, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., you can visit the Régie des rentes du Québec information stand on Berri Street near the Sainte Catherine Street intersection.

Same sex spouses will be able to get information about the surviving spouse's pension (in French only), partition of employment earnings following separation and other Régie programs.

You will soon receive your annual notice for family benefits. The notice indicates the benefit amount that you will receive from the Régie from 1 August 2002 through 31 July 2003.
