Green: free flow. Occupancy rate less than 14% (free flow)

Black: no data available. No data available for the segment in question.

The preceding map, updated every five minutes, gives the traffic conditions in the corridor formed by the following arteries:

  • Autoroute 25, from the pont-tunnel Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine to échangeur Anjou;
  • Autoroute 40 (Métropolitaine), from échangeur Anjou to autoroute 520;
  • Autoroute 15 (Décarie), from échangeur Décarie to échangeur Turcot;
  • Autoroute 720 (Ville-Marie), from échangeur Turcot to tunnel Ville-Marie.

The data needed to update the map are collected from vehicle detection loops buried in the pavement about every 500 to 800 metres. The loops make it possible to count vehicles, to evaluate their speed and even to estimate the occupancy rate of travel lanes. The estimated occupancy rate provides a portrait of traffic density.
