Variable Data Printing

Variable Data PrintingVariable Print Services provides variable printing services, where electronic documents are merged with variable data at print time to create personalized documents. Benefits include the elimination of pre-printed forms, plus rapid forms modification. Printing forms "on demand" means cost savings and a reduction in waste when changes occur.
High Speed cut sheet laser simplex / duplex printing at speeds of 135 to 180 impressions per minute. The printers can handle paper as small as 7X10 inches and up to 11X17 inches. The printers are connected to three print platforms: the MVS host system, IBM PC based Info print manager software and Xerox Network Print Software “NPS”. This allows the printers to accepted most variable print data formats, including line data, IPDS, AFP, PCL, DJDE, postscript and PDF files.
The print services available include:

  • Monochrome laser printing: Black or shades of black toner placed on cut sheet paper stock.
  • Magnetic Ink Character Recognition: “MICR” printing of cheques and invoices that comply with the Canada Payments Association “CPA” standards. This allows any financial institution to accept cheques or payments for the province.
  • Highlight Color laser printing: Black ink and a choice of one highlight color, blue, red or green, typically used to draw the reader’s attention to critical messages without the cost of pre-printed forms.
  •  Impact printing of MVS main frame line data on tractor-fed labels or multiple part forms.

Variable Print Services has comprehensive disaster recovery agreements which ensure service availability.
Production Control Services are available to all print customers.  The services include: job scheduling, monitoring and problem reporting; and inventory management and storage of pre-printed forms.
