  • Regional District of East Kootenay
The Commission and the RDEK have finalized a Delegation Agreement for ALR lands within an area covered by the Wasa-Ta Ta Creek-Skookumchuck-Sheep Creek Land Use Bylaw No. 1625. The Delegation Agreement provides the Regional District with the authority to make decisions under the Agricultural Land Commission Act regarding subdivision and land use applications for ALR lands within the bylaw area. Discussions about the possibility of an agreement have been ongoing since 2002 when the Commission worked with the Regional District on the proposed land use bylaw. The agreement is to come into effect on the date of the adoption of the proposed amendments to s.3.03(5) of Bylaw 1625 - expected to be completed before the end of 2004.
