Change of Address Service – About This Service

In the fall of 2000 the Government of British Columbia started a project to develop a new service that would allow BC residents to provide their change of address information to one point of contact with the provincial government and have the information forwarded to multiple programs on their behalf.

The Multiple Address Change service simply delivers a resident's address change requests to the programs and/or offices that the person has selected. Once the address change is received by the participating program area the person making the request is validated using the program area's files. For example, MSP will use their program files to confirm that the PHN submitted belongs to the individual making the request. The Multiple Address Change service will not retain any of the information submitted to the program areas.

Phase 1 of the Multiple Address Change service, with the participation of the Medical Services Plan (MSP), the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), and Elections BC was implemented in April of 2001. It is intended that additional programs across provincial government ministries, Crown corporations, and public agencies will be added to the service in phase 2.

The Multiple Address Change service has been designed to be easily accessible to all British Columbia residents. The service can be accessed directly by computer using the Internet, in person by visiting a Government Agent’s office, or toll-free by telephone - in Metro Vancouver at 604 775-0011 and elsewhere in BC at 1-866-775-0011.
