THE BEST MEAL ON EARTH

Agriculture and Lands Minister Pat Bell was joined by Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture Planning Val Roddick and B.C. Agriculture Council Executive Director Steve Thomson for a Dec. 11, 2006 all-B.C. Christmas meal in his Victoria office. The meal was prepared to remind British Columbians that they have a choice this holiday season, and they should choose B.C. products for the Best Meal on Earth. [News release]

SHELLFISH EQUIPMENT TAGGING PROGRAM FIRST OF ITS KIND

VICTORIA – The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands and the BC Shellfish Growers Association (BCSGA) have implemented a new, one-of-a-kind pilot program to help growers retrieve lost equipment and reduce the amount of debris that washes ashore, Minister Pat Bell announced today.

The ministry is committed to providing the business climate for a competitive and profitable industry providing safe, high quality food for consumers and export markets.
