Freedom of Information and
 Protection of Privacy


The Privacy and Legislation Branch (PLB) maintains cross-government policy and procedures, standards and guidelines on access to information and protection of privacy; provides services, support and leadership to ministries and other public bodies to assist them in complying with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP Act); co-ordinates systems designed to manage and facilitate FOI requests and privacy responsibilities; provides central agency comment and direction on information access and privacy matters in legislative, program and systems development initiatives, and monitors and, where necessary, manages the revision process for the FOIPP Act and its schedules.
