The management of the British Columbia Government's information
and communications technology (ICT) is defined by legislation and
general government policies. The CIO has the authority to
establish corporate policies, standards and guidelines respecting
information and technology management, privacy and security.
Typically, the CIO issues memoranda or bulletins to establish
strategic directions for government's ICT resources or to further
clarify existing policy. New policies or processes may also be
defined by issuing a directive. |
