OLYMPIC/PARALYMPIC LIVE SITES (OPLS)
The Olympic/Paralympic
Live Sites Program will ensure that a share of the
benefits of hosting the 2010 Olympic/Paralympic Winter
Games are made available to residents of the province, beyond the immediate
Olympic-venue towns and cities, while also providing communities with legacies
of continuing economic value.
Program Funding
The Olympic/Paralympic
Live Sites Program will be a
$20 million program offering financial
support (maximum award is $330,000) for projects with budgets of under $1
million that provide opportunities for communities to participate in the spirit
of the 2010 Olympic/Paralympic Winter Games.
Applicant Eligibility
Local governments
located outside the Greater Vancouver
Regional District and the Whistler – Squamish corridor including Municipalities,
Cities, Towns, Villages, Regional Districts and unincorporated rural areas, are
eligible to submit an application. Registered non-profit societies, whose
applications have been endorsed by local government, are also eligible to apply
for program funding.
