Mandate

The Geo-Spatial Reference Unit defines and manages, according to established standards and professional practices, the spatial coordinate system in the province to support geographic positioning activities.

The Geo-Spatial Reference consists of two main components.

• a physical monumented system
• a satellite positioning reference system

Both systems provide compatible universal coordinates.
