New VRI data table for Data Distribution

The data extraction for the distribution of this data has not been very user friendly in the past. ILMB and the VRI data custodian, Forest Analysis and Inventory Branch, have developed a new table structure to make the distribution of VRI data more efficient. Users will be offered one table with all VRI data, thus eliminating the need to join tables. The new table is called the VEG_COMP_LYR_R1_POLY. This is a composite spatial view with geometry and all 177 attributes from the VRI polygon and rank 1 layer table. For more information go here.

iMapBC v1.7.1 released to Government Staff

iMapBC v1.7.1 has been deployed and tuned over the last two weeks. This new release improves application start up times significantly and removes a number of bugs associated with tools that would 'time out' a user session when used. If you experience delays starting up iMapBC, or have sessions that time out consistently when performing a specific operation, please notify the MAL/MOE helpdesk of the incident via e-mail at MALMoE.Helpdesk@gov.bc.ca. Configuration of this release has been tricky - if you experience an application outage, again please inform the MAL/MOE helpdesk so they can resolve quickly. Click here for more information.

In a continuing effort to improve presentation views, layer names have been rationalized and renamed to improve usability. This initiative is in support of the public release of iMapBC that is now available through the natural resource information centre (www.nric.ca) and in part to support the FrontCounter BC's single window of service for clients.
