If you suspect any crop damage,
you must file a Notice of Loss
(NOL)
-
Filing a Notice of Loss each time
you suspect your crop has been damaged is a critical requirement
of your contract with Production Insurance.
-
Please notify the Production
Insurance office by phoning, faxing, emailing or returning the Notice of
Loss form immediately.
-
After notifying Production Insurance
of the suspected loss you must receive a confirmation number
(normally within two weeks). If you have not received a confirmation
number, please contact us to receive one. The confirmation
number proves that you have properly filed your Notice of Loss
(NOL) and that we have a record of it.
-
This must be done before the crop is
put to an alternative use (harvesting, baling, silage, grazing,
tilling under, etc)!
-
Not filing a Notice of Loss or not
getting a confirmation number could
possibly void your claim with Production Insurance.
-
Following a Notice of Loss, an
experienced adjuster will inspect your crops and determine the
extent of the loss.
-
If an inspector has not been to your
farm within two weeks before harvest, please phone your local Production
Insurance office to check your status.
