Housing Matters BC  
On October 3rd, an innovative and comprehensive housing strategy was announced by Minister Responsible for Housing Rich Coleman. The new strategy helps those in greatest need - from the homeless to low-income working families - access safe, affordable housing. Rental Assistance Program
As part of Housing Matters BC, the new Rental Assistance Program provides direct cash assistance to eligible low-income working families with children under the age of 19 and a household income less than $20,000 per year. Social Housing Agreement Signed
On June 19, 2006, the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia signed the social housing agreement transferring the administration of 51,600 units to the Province of British Columbia.
