The British Columbia College of Family Physicians (BCCFP) is a Chapter of The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), a national, voluntary organization of Family Physicians which represents family physicians/general practitioners in the discipline of Family Medicine. The BCCFP represents over 2,100 family physicians in British Columbia. There are about 16,000 members of the CFPC nationally. We are the third largest chapter with an Executive and Board that meets regularly. Through our national office, we accredit the university residency programs in family medicine across Canada and provide the national certification exams in family medicine and emergency medicine. We promote the concept that the family physician provides a special kind of medical care requiring specific training and a commitment to life long learning.
