The Ministry of Health works together with BC's health authorities to provide quality, appropriate and timely health services to British Columbians.
The ministry sets province-wide goals, standards and performance agreements for health service delivery by BC's six health authorities:
- Provincial Health Services Authority
- Northern Health Authority
- Interior Health Authority
- Fraser Health Authority
- Vancouver Coastal Health Authority
- Vancouver Island Health Authority
The Provincial Health Services Authority works with the regional health authorities to plan and coordinate the delivery of provincial programs and specialized services, such as transplants and cardiac care. The five regional health authorities plan and deliver services to meet the needs of their diverse communities.
