BC HealthGuide handbook - Read the BC HealthGuide handbook for information on how to recognize and cope with common health concerns. Learn about how to prevent illness, home treatment and care options, and when you should see a health professional. You can find topics relevant to older adults throughout the handbook.

Get your free BC HealthGuide handbook in English, French, Chinese and Punjabi.

Pick up your handbook at these locations:

  • English handbooks are available at your local pharmacy or Government Agent's Office.
  • Chinese or Punjabi handbooks are available at many community or multicultural organizations, temples or English Language Services for Adults providers. Click on and print a Chinese and Punjabi poster or an English poster to help distribute the handbooks in your organization or community.
  • French handbooks are available through your local francophone organization.

Dial-A-Dietitian - If you have nutrition questions call Dial-A-Dietitian to speak with a registered dietitian available Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. An allergy dietitian is available Wednesday to Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm. Dietitians offer confidential nutrition information and advice, and guide you to nutrition services in your community. TTY available for deaf and hearing-impaired, and translation services available on request in over 130 languages.
