Premier Gordon Campbell speaks to the media in Kelowna Aug. 22, during a day of visiting B.C. communities devastated by wildfires. "Government will do what it must to provide support and care for those whose homes, treasures and businesses have been affected by these fires," the Premier assured affected residents.

Premier Gordon Campbell thanks soldiers from the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry as they prepare to help fight the forest fires burning in the Kamloops region. One hundred and thirteen soldiers from B company of the first battalion of the Edmonton-based PPCLI are in B.C. to aid in the firefighting effort.
