The Capital Asset Management
Framework is designed to encourage innovative and responsible use of
resources in the provision of provincial public sector infrastructure.
Value for taxpayer dollars and safeguarding the public interest are
keynotes of the policy.
The framework consists of three integrated components:
- The
Overview (1.8Mb pdf) describes the objectives, principles and key
elements of the framework and sets out the province's life-cycle approach
to capital management and the steps and approval points in the capital
process;
- The Guidelines,
(7907KB pdf) articulate the province's minimum standards, as well as
policies and processes for capital asset management;
- The "Tools" component
(currently under development) provides a range of practical resources,
such as templates, sample documents, and technical guidelines. Links
to tools and resources are incorporated throughout the Guidelines document.
