NEW REPRESENTATIVE TO BE ACTING CHILD AND YOUTH OFFICER

VICTORIA – Jane Morley, QC, will step down as B.C.’s child and youth officer Dec. 31 and Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond will become the acting child and youth officer. This will ensure continuity of services during a transition period from January to March 2007.

VICTORIA – Maris Rae McMillan, QC, has been appointed a judge of the British Columbia Provincial Court in Vancouver, Attorney General Wally Oppal announced.
