Signs on bikeways 

Prescriptive signs

Prescriptive signs provide the information needed to ensure the safety of cyclists and other road users on bikeways and public roads. This type of sign may indicate obligation or a restriction for example.

The purpose of warning signs is to draw the attention of cyclists and other road users to obstacles or hazards on the cycling route

Indicative signs
Menu. 

Indicative signs give cyclists on bikeways geographic information of use in orienting themselves, such as the names of municipalities, the names of waterways and distances. They also provide information on facilities or services available that are of interest to cyclists.

Work site signs
Menu. 

Work site signs warn cyclists that maintenance or construction work is being done on the bikeway. A bypass route may be indicated, in which case temporary signs will be installed to show cyclists the route to take.

Traffic lights

Cyclists must observe the traffic lights for motorists.

In some cases, cyclists must respect pedestrian lights. This sign is then posted Traaffic control signal - Bicycle signal. In other cases, specific traffic lights are reserved for them
Pavement markings

Pavement marking - Voided lozenge, bicycle, arrow.When cycling lanes and paths are paved, the following symbols are painted on the pavement. The diamond with a bicycle indicates that the route is reserved for cyclists.
