Harry Lali was first elected as the MLA for Yale-Lillooet in 1991 and was re-elected in 1996. He was elected once again on May 17, 2005.

Harry serves as Opposition Critic for Citizens Services.

From 1998 to 2001 he served as the Minister of Transportation.

Harry is 48 years old and was born in Jullundur District, Punjab, and currently lives in Merritt. He was educated at the University of Victoria and the University of British Columbia, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and South Asian Area Studies. Harry is the founder of the group which established a chair of Punjabi and Sikh Studies at the University of British Columbia.

Harry served two years as a Councillor for the City of Merritt. His community involvement also includes membership in the Lions Club, the Merritt Recreation Commission and the Merritt Aquatic Facilities Committee.

In 2001, Harry started his own business and has been involved in international development and technology transfer to developing countries, namely in the field of environmental technologies and power generation.

Harry and his wife, Rani, have three children, named Ajhmair, Suman, and Sajjin.
