Bob Simpson was elected as the MLA for Cariboo North on May 17, 2005.

Bob serves as Opposition Critic for Forests and Range.

A former small business owner and entrepreneur, Bob was most recently Corporate Manager, Organizational Effectiveness and Leadership Development for a major forest products company.

Born in Scotland, Bob's family immigrated to Winnipeg in 1967. He moved to British Columbia in 1973 when he joined the Canadian Navy. Bob obtained two undergraduate degrees and a Teaching Certificate from the University of Victoria and moved to Quesnel to teach High School in 1985.

Bob is also a public speaker and writer. He wrote a column for the Quesnel Cariboo Observer in the 1980s, and served as the associate editor for a national environmental magazine.

Bob and his wife Trish live in Quesnel. Trish teaches Grade Seven, and they have two teenaged children.
