Minister of State for Mining Bill Bennett, Western Canadian Coal Corp. Chairman John Byrne, Western Canadian Coal Corp. Chief Operating Officer John Hogg and West Vancouver-Capilano MLA Ralph Sultan cut the ribbon between two massive trucks to officially open Western Canadian Coal Corporation’s Wolverine mine on Oct. 6, 2006. The metallurgical coal mine is comprised of two deposits and is expected to produce 1.35 million tonnes of hard coking coal in its first fiscal year.
