Forest Revenue Branch manages and collects forest revenues invoiced by
the Ministry of Forests to forest industry clients. Monies paid are deposited
to the consolidated revenue account. Collection action is taken when necessary
to ensure payment of all monies owing to the government. In addition, the branch
manages trust security deposits established in support of tenure agreements issued
by the Ministry of Forests.
Annually the branch collects over $1.2 billion through three customer service
centres located in Kamloops, Prince George and Victoria. The monies collected
are applied to forest industry client accounts. Periodic forest statements of
accounts are issued to forest industry clients. Interest is charged on all overdue
accounts. The Forest Act establishes the rate and amount of interest charged.
Collection action is taken on all overdue amounts. Collectors are located in three customer service centres located in Kamloops, Smithers and Victoria. Various types of collection action are taken under numerous statutes as necessary to ensure payment.
