Medical Services Plan PremiumsIn British Columbia, Medical Services Plan (MSP) is a prepaid plan and account holders are billed for premiums one month in advance. Assistance with premium rates is based on family size, income and allowable MSP deductions. There are no special premium rates for seniors or students. Tax ReceiptsThe Canada Revenue Agency does not allow income tax deductions for either premiums paid to the Medical Services Plan or medical expenses paid by the Plan. No receipts are issued for tax purposes. For any information on the tax implications of payment of MSP benefits on behalf of employees, please contact CRA. Change of Address / Moving within BCIf you have moved within the province and have already submitted a Change of Address notice, the change will be made as quickly as possible. If you have not yet notified MSP, to complete and submit information regarding relocation within BC, click here. Or if you prefer, you can print, complete and mail or fax to the Medical Services Plan a Change of Address Notice. Change of Address / Moving outside of BCIf you have moved out of BC you must notify MSP of the date of your departure from BC and provide us with your new address. Once the information has been received and processed the appropriate adjustments will be made to your account and a revised bill or a refund will be issued.
