How to Book a Tour

Guided tours are free and are recommended for all groups of ten or more people visiting the Parliament Buildings. Individuals or groups of nine or less do not need to make a reservation and can join one of our regularly scheduled free public tours.

For school groups, planning to visit the Parliament Buildings, please visit How to Book a School Tour.

To reserve a tour, please call the Legislative Tour Coordinator at 250-387-3046 or toll-free at 1-800-663-7867. There is also an online booking form you can complete and submit for your convenience.

We respectfully ask that you book as far as possible in advance in order to ensure the availability of the date and time you are requesting.

  • Tours are available in a variety of languages depending on the availability of staff. Please call the Tour Coordinator for more information on booking a language tour.
  • The Parliament Buildings are wheelchair accessible from the East-side entrance. Please ask a tour guide or a member of the security staff for assistance upon arrival.

Planning Your Trip

Fall to Spring Season (September to May)

If you are planning to visit between September and May, tour bookings are available each weekday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Tours last approximately one hour.

If the House is sitting on the day of your visit, groups may also request seats in the public gallery at the conclusion of the tour. Please note that seating in the Public Gallery is limited and reservations are for 20 minutes. Consult the Legislative Calendar to determine session dates. Please be aware that Security requires that all backpacks, cameras, cell phones and other possessions be checked before entering the Public Gallery, so groups are encouraged to leave their belongings on their bus. Consult Rules of the Public Gallery for more information.

Once the tour is scheduled, the Tour Coordinator will send you a letter confirming the date and time, including information on where to meet your tour guide.

Summer Season (May to September)

If you are planning to visit during the Summer season (the May long-weekend through to Labour Day), tours of the Parliament Buildings are available seven days a week between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. On Friday and Saturday evenings, tours are also available until 8:30 pm.

Tours are regularly scheduled and depart every twenty minutes throughout the day. Tours last approximately thirty minutes.

Once the tour is scheduled, the Tour Coordinator will send you a letter confirming the date and time, including information on where to meet your tour guide.
