Premier Gordon Campbell, federal Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Jim Prentice and Chief Dominic Frederick celebrate the initialling of the Lheidli T'enneh Final Agreement

Final Agreements

A Final Agreement is stage five of the six-stage BC Treaty Commission process. It is the stage at which the three parties work out the technical and legal issues in the Agreement-in-Principle to produce a Final Agreement, or treaty. The Final Agreement will formalize the New Relationship between the parties. Once ratified by the First Nation members, the B.C. Legislature and the Canadian Parliament and Senate, the Final Agreement is passed into law and becomes a treaty.
