Children
Involved with the
Ministry - Statistics & Results
General Trends - Children in BC In 2001, the Provincial Health Officer released two long-term studies into health and mortality of children in care, and the general B.C. child and youth population in 2001. Both concluded that the trends are positive. Statistics & Outcome Results The ministry gathers statistics, analyzes them and produces reports on service trends and outcomes associated with services provided to children and families. This information is gathered from the ministry's electronic information system and is updated regularly. Click here for Statistics showing the number of fatalities of children in care, as well as those receiving other ministry services (since 1996). Click here for Outcome Results associated with the delivery of child welfare services. Links
