Becoming a Licensed Farm Labour Contractor


 

You must apply for a licence before commencing work as a farm labour contractor. Listed are details of all items you are required to submit when applying for a licence. Please submit your completed package well in advance of your anticipated date of starting work to allow adequate time to process your application. The package may be submitted via regular mail, courier or in person to:

Upon receipt of the package, all forms and steps will be reviewed. If all requirements have been met, then and only then will you be contacted to set up an appointment to write the required examination. Only directors or owners of the company are allowed to write the exam.

If you are in the Kelowna, Penticton or Kamloops area, please send your completed package to the Surrey office and an appointment to write the exam will be made at the Employment Standards office nearest you.

It is important to note that any time changes are made (e.g. change of address, phone number, number of workers, vehicles used to transport workers, etc.), it is the responsibility of the Farm Labour Contractor to advise the Branch of these changes as soon as possible. Failure to do so could result in monetary penalties.
