GAMES BID INVITATION GENERATES PROVINCEWIDE INTEREST
VICTORIA – In response to a Provincial letter of invitation sent in October, five communities have declared their intention to bid on the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games, announced Tourism, Sport and the Arts Minister Stan Hagen.

BEIJING – Premier Gordon Campbell unveiled plans today for the B.C.-Canada Pavilion, which will be British Columbia and Canada’s showcase to the world at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.
GAMING GRANT TO SUPPORT B.C. ATHLETIC TEAM DOWN UNDER
BURNABY – With the support of a $300,000 community gaming grant, a team made up of police, firefighters and other law enforcement and emergency responders will travel to Australia next year to compete in a variety of sports at the 12th World Police and Fire Games, Solicitor General John Les and Burquitlam MLA Harry Bloy said.
