Back to Current Provincial Timber Supply Review - Timber Supply Areas

Williams Lake Timber Supply Area

The Williams Lake TSA is one of the largest TSAs in the province, covering approximately 4.87 million hectares.  It is located in the Fraser Basin and Interior Plateau between the Coast Mountains on the west and the Cariboo Mountains on the east.  The TSA includes the communities of Williams Lake, Alexis Creek and Horsefly.

The current allowable annual cut (AAC) for the Williams Lake TSA, effective November 2002, was set at 3,768,400 cubic metres.  This AAC will remain in effect until a new AAC is determined, which must take place within five years of this determination, unless the redetermination date is formally postponed according to the provisions of Section 8 of the Forest Act.

Current Timber Supply Review

The third timber supply review (TSR 3) was initiated in 2005 by the Ministry of Forests and Range.  A key component of the TSR is the preparation of a timber supply analylsis.

A description and full copies of the relevant documents released for the Williams Lake timber supply review can be found on the 'Documents' site.
