Timber Supply Area
The Arrow TSA, located in the West Kootenay area of south-eastern British Columbia,
includes the communities of Rossland, Trail, Castlegar, Slocan, New Denver and
Nakusp.
The
current allowable annual cut (AAC) for the Arrow TSA is 550,000 cubic
metres effective July 1, 2005. This AAC will remain in effect
until a new AAC is determined, which must take place within five years
of this determination, unless the re-determination date is formally
postponed according to the provisions of Section 8 of the Forest
Act.
Current Timber Supply Review
The third timber supply review (TSR3) was initiated in 2003. A
key component of the TSR is the preparation of a timber supply
analysis. Under the new Defined
Forest Area Management (DFAM) initiative, DFAM participants in the
TSA will collectively be responsible for completing the Arrow TSA timber supply analysis.

The Chief Forester's rationale for AAC determination was released on
June 9, 2005.
A description and full copies of the relevant documents released
for the Arrow TSR can be found on the 'Documents' site.
Status/Schedule
The next TSR will be initiated in 2008.
