Cassiar Timber Supply Area

Current AAC: 305,000 cubic metres per year

The Cassiar TSA is the largest TSA in B.C., covering approximately 13.2 million hectares or one-sixth of the province. The TSA includes the communities of Atlin, Cassiar, Dease Lake, Telegraph Creek and Iskut. The current allowable annual cut for the Cassiar TSA was set in 1996 at 400,000 cubic metres. In November 1999, the Cassiar data package and information report were published, March 2001 saw the publication of the timber supply and social-economic analysis. November 2001 saw the publication of the summary of public input and the rationale statement.
