Human Rights Protection

The Human Rights Code protects British Columbians from discrimination in areas such as employment, housing, and services and facilities customarily available to the public. Protection from Discrimination [PDF] gives a brief description of the coverage provided by the Human Rights Code.

More information about the Human Rights Code is available by following the links to the information sheets listed at the left, and from the B.C. Human Rights Coalition.

The independent Human Rights Tribunal is responsible for dealing with complaints under the Human Rights Code. Information about the Tribunal, including detailed information about how to file a complaint, is available from the BC Human Rights Tribunal.
