The Journals is a compilation of the daily Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly, which upon prorogation of the Assembly are bound together with a comprehensive subject index. It is considered the permanent official record of the proceedings of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly. By statute, the Legislative Assembly is a court of record and the register of its proceedings, The Journals of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, has the status of a legally recognised document. Section Six of The Saskatchewan Evidence Act states the following: "[The published Journals] shall be taken prima facie to be copies of the originals there of ... and shall in all courts and proceedings be admitted in evidence without proof as the originals might be." Disclaimer: the electronic versions of the Legislative Assembly's documents are provided on this site for information purposes only. The content of the documents is identical to the printed record, only the presentation differs unless otherwise noted. The printed versions are the official record for legal purposes. |
