Resolving Conflict

The Department of Labour offers a training program to assist representatives from labour and management in exploring different ways to approach conflict:
enhancing relationships
encouraging effective communication
emphasizing common ground

The Labour Relations and Mediation Division provides information, training, mediation and bargaining assistance to labour and management in unionized workplaces. Specifically, it:
  • provides conciliation assistance to parties involved in collective bargaining
  • facilitates interest based negotiation (IBN)
  • provides grievance mediation and workplace mediation services
  • provides training to assist in joint problem solving and interest based negotiation (IBN)
The two workshops we offer are:
  • Interest Based Negotiations
  • Resolving Workplace Conflict & Joint Problem Solving

These services are provided free of charge.
