Post-secondary education and training are vital to our province’s society, economy and future. Our vision is a province where no one is left behind on the path to opportunity. It is essential that students are able to take full advantage of the available post-secondary education and training opportunities. This helps people in their personal growth and it enables economic growth. An educated and skilled population also strengthens the social structures that make Saskatchewan an ideal place to live.

As best we can, we want to ensure that, in Saskatchewan, the cost of post-secondary opportunities is not a barrier to education or training. Today’s economy places an ever-increasing value on knowledge and skills. Graduates of post-secondary programs have the highest employment rates because their knowledge and skills are in demand.

Saskatchewan has the remarkable advantage of having a large number of young people reaching the age at which they think about what education or training will give them the best shot at the future they want. In order for the province to fully benefit from this advantage, it is essential that Saskatchewan increase the number of people that have the skills and knowledge required to seize the career opportunities that will arise both from the hot labour market, and from the retirement of the baby boom generation.
