Overpayments

Overpayments are created if you are reassessed and the result is that you are entitled to less financial assistance.

Amounts overpaid to you will be recovered from your subsequent monthly benefits at a recovery rate that will be the total overpayment amount or 10% of your monthly entitlement, whichever is less. You will receive a reduced monthly entitlement until your overpayment is fully recovered.

Overpayments that are not fully recovered before you finish your program are repayable and will be collected by the PTA Repayment Unit. Do not send cash in the mail.

Waiving or deferral of overpayments must be requested in writing and substantiating documentation must be provided.
