Receiving Your Student Loan Funds

Once your application has been assessed, you will receive a package of information that will include a Certificate of Eligibility (Schedule 1) Canada Student Loan and Saskatchewan Student Loan Agreement, instructions on negotiating your Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan and an Assessment Letter with Information on the amount of your student loan and disbursement.

Review your Certificate of Eligibility (Schedule 1) to ensure it is accurate and that you understand the terms and conditions associated with your Canada-Saskatchewan integrated student loan. If the information on your certificate is incorrect, you will need to forward the form to Saskatchewan Student Financial Assistance Branch to have the Schedule 1 reissued with the correct information.

You must then have your school confirm your enrolment and take your completed Schedule 1 document, along with a void cheque, to:

The National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) administers your loan on behalf of the Government of Canada and the Province of Saskatchewan.

If you submit a void cheque with your loan documents, the Canada portion of your Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan funds will be deposited into your bank account within a week of the disbursement date(s) on your Certificate of Eligibility or within a week of the date your loan documents are received by the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC), whichever is later.

If you did not attach a void cheque or if the information on your cheque is inaccurate, your funds will be mailed to you by cheque within two weeks of the disbursement date or within two weeks of the date your loan documents are received by the NSLSC, whichever is later.

The Saskatchewan portion of your Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loan will be disbursed at the beginning of each month as indicated on your Assessment letter.
